Ghana babies are the cutest babies I have ever seen.  They often come out looking just like a baby doll.  The cutie in this picture happens to be my grandbaby, Stephanie Ann Fosu.  Yes, she is named after me,  it was a huge honor.  I was able to attend her baby naming ceremony, I had to share the meaning behind my name and hold her during the blessing of her name.

The pictures that I have of me with the children in Ghana are my most favorite (except one with Opal)((I will share about her on another post)  I will include a few in this blog as they are the whole reason we are in Ghana.  We are there to share Jesus with the children.

In a large number of the churches in Ghana, the children aren't really invited to be a part of the church.  The kids play outside while the parents worship and get fed from the Word.  Why, you might be asking yourself...it boils down to this, kids don't tithe or give money.  The church then focuses on the adults so they can have the financial needs of the church met.  So, God sends us (two very white people with their very white son) to Ghana to reach the next generation for Christ in a different way.

We started our Jesus School of Discipleship campuses this year with churches that already have a heart for the children.  Our first campus was in Accra with Pastor Patrick Frimpong (he has adopted me as his sister) Watching the kids learn to study the word of God, and learn how to apply it to their lives has been breathtaking.  Children preaching, leading praise and worship and unafraid to share their faith in God...what an awesome gift we have been given.

We now have 8 campuses in various cities and villages in Ghana.  Let's share the names of these places because the names in Ghana are fun...

  1. Sunyani
  2. Accra (the capital city)
  3. Sunyani Asufufu
  4. Jinijini
  5. Techimantia
  6. Suma
  7. Berekum
  8. Duayaw-Nkwanta

With over 200 students and teachers involved already, and more schools waiting to start when we get back to Ghana, we know that God is actively involved in what we have been placed there to do.

Pray for us as we continue writing the 2nd and 3rd year curriculum. We plan to have a school of leaders and school of teachers curriculum by the time we have our first 3rd year graduation.  Until then we will continue to minister and share with each child that He puts in our path.  Thanks for joining me on my journey!
